The Sirius Foundation was established in 2008 with the aim of contributing to the improvement of the quality of life of children threatened in their natural environment.
The Sirius Foundation is named after the brightest star in the sky, in the Canis Major constellation, emitting a bright bluish-white light. The word Sirius comes from the Greek word seirios, meaning flashing. Like the star Sirius, the Sirius Foundation wishes to be an unmistakable bright point in the field of helping and protecting children.
The Sirius Foundation, guided by the idea of its own participation in the system of care for vulnerable children, has founded two organizations – OPS Sirius in 2008 and support centre Centrum podpory, o.p.s. in 2012. Both of these organizations implement projects of the Sirius Foundation.
